The wire — 26 August 2026

in𝕏

Wednesday itself was quiet — no rounds from France or the rest of Europe announced on 26 August cleared the two-source corroboration threshold. What the desk can report is the seven rounds that Monday's wire missed: all announced on 25 August, none surfaced by yesterday's brief. Two separate strands run through them, and a forced single theme would obscure both.

The first strand is AI companies rebuilding institutional workflows from scratch: Repodo (Copenhagen, €8.2M Pre-Seed) is an authorised audit firm, not audit software — founded by the three executives who built Lunar, backed by Lunar's original funder Seed Capital alongside Hedosophia. Neno (Amsterdam, €6.6M Seed) replaces the multi-vendor SME accounting stack with an agentic general ledger that reconciles, prepares VAT, and handles compliance continuously; AlleyCorp leads from New York. eComID (Stockholm, €14.6M Seed, led by Systemiq Capital) builds the portable shopper identity layer that lets AI personalise a first brand visit without starting from zero — 60-plus brands, 20 million monthly shoppers, and Stadium converting from customer to investor. Volve (Oslo, $3M / ~€2.7M Seed, led by Skyfall Ventures) applies AI to the thousands of pages of tender documentation that shape construction project margins before a single nail is driven. Solace Care (Stockholm, €2.1M Pre-Seed, led by Spintop Ventures) turns life insurance from a payout product into a living planning and bereavement service — 25,000 covered lives in under a year, through carrier partnerships opened by a roster of five former insurance CEOs investing as angels.

The second strand has two rounds. BOOKR Kids (Budapest, €6.1M Series A, led by 3TS Capital Partners via TCEE Fund IV) is already EBITDA-positive with 600,000 paying students in 30-plus countries — the growth capital goes to BOOKR Next for ages 10–18 and a structured early-literacy programme. MAASH (Brussels, €12.15M in mixed financing) is launching its 12m³ mycoprotein demonstration plant in Carling-Saint-Avold; the package combines €5.85M private equity — including Nordzucker and Tereos as strategic investors — with €4.3M in Bpifrance Première Usine grants and a €2M loan under France 2030.

Three investor threads connect parts of the batch to earlier ProYarn coverage. Skyfall Ventures has now backed Visoid, HIVE Autonomy, and Volve in the space of two months — all Oslo-linked, all AI companies solving documentation-heavy workflows in slow-adopting industries. Spintop Ventures led Velatir's August seed and leads Solace Care's pre-seed in the same month. Norrsken Evolve appears in both Velatir and Volve. OBOS is simultaneously a customer and an investor in Volve — the Nordic housing developer's Ventures arm participating alongside former OBOS CEO Daniel Kjørberg Siraj as a personal angel.

France remains quiet for the thirteenth consecutive day since 13 August. No rounds have been published yet from 26 August itself — which is either the publication lag of a Wednesday morning embargo or a genuinely uneventful day; tomorrow's wire will resolve the question.
