The wire — 8 October 2026

Three consecutive quiet editions — Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday — reflected a structural gap: this wire publishes at 07:00 Paris, and European press offices issue announcements from 08:00. The rounds were being announced; they weren't visible at publication time. Thursday's sweep found them all. Today's edition publishes 13 deal stories covering rounds announced Monday through Wednesday, with all stories dated to their actual announcement dates. No round is backdated or misrepresented; the sequence is transparent.

There is no single fil rouge across 13 rounds in six countries. Two genuine clusters are worth naming.

Cybersecurity is the week's loudest sector. Three rounds in close succession — Hadrian (Amsterdam/London, €35.7M, agentic AI offensive security), Netsec (Paris, €8.9M, managed security for SMEs), and Fleuret AI (Paris, €4M Pre-Seed, autonomous penetration testing) — represent three different layers of the same structural deficit. Hadrian operates at enterprise scale with AI agents that run the attack chain autonomously. Netsec builds the managed security layer that was previously only available to large organisations. Fleuret AI automates the continuous adversarial simulation that the annual manual pentest cannot provide. Three rounds, three price points, one market reality: the attack surface is growing faster than human capacity to test and defend it.

Health is the week's widest spread. Rivercell (Paris, €22M Seed, AI drug-target discovery) is the largest French round and addresses the problem furthest upstream — identifying the right molecular target before a drug programme begins. Archeon Medical (Besançon, €7.5M Series A) and MintNeuro (London, €4.4M) both target chronic conditions with hardware: EOlife automates ventilation during cardiac arrest CPR; MintNeuro's neural chips enable closed-loop therapy for Parkinson's and epilepsy. Cori Clinical (London/Amsterdam, €3.8M Seed) fixes the operational delays that sit between a promising therapy and the patient who needs it. Four health rounds, four distinct points on the drug-to-patient pipeline.

The other nine rounds, largest to smallest:

Noah (London) closed its $38M / ~€34M Seed led by Endeit Capital, with FJ Labs, LocalGlobe, and Felix Capital. The company builds programmable multi-currency stablecoin settlement infrastructure for fintechs and corporates — the infrastructure layer MiCA's 2025 entry into force made commercially viable.

VoltR (Verrières-en-Anjou) raised €22M — €16M equity from SPI 2 Fund (Bpifrance / France 2030) and Decathlon PULSE, plus €6M in grants — to build France's first industrial second-life battery remanufacturing facility, targeting 60+ jobs by 2027.

Procuros (Hamburg) raised €20M Series A led by XAnge, with Creandum, Point Nine, W23, and b2venture. The company replaces legacy EDI infrastructure with AI-native B2B integration for suppliers and retailers. Creandum's participation continues its series of European Series A investments in horizontal B2B infrastructure.

finmid (Berlin) raised €17M Series A extension led by Earlybird, alongside a new Bolt vehicle-financing partnership. The company provides embedded working-capital lending infrastructure for B2B platforms — Wolt, Delivery Hero, and now Bolt.

Edonia (Agen) raised €15M led by SWEN Blue Ocean 2, with Asterion Ventures, EIT Food, and Bpifrance, to scale microalgae-based protein ingredients for food manufacturers. EIT Food's equity participation — rather than its usual grants — is the funding signal worth noting. Note: Maddyness reported €12M; three other sources including EIT Food's press release confirm €15M.

PlannerPal (London) raised $6M / ~€5.4M led by Mercia Ventures to automate compliance documentation for UK financial advisers beyond meeting transcription — producing the actual suitability assessments and regulatory reports that advisers must file.

HV Capital appeared in three rounds this week: co-lead on Ore Energy's August Series A, lead on Rivercell, and participant in Hadrian — a range that covers energy storage, AI drug discovery, and offensive security within the same fortnight.

Next edition: Friday 9 October 2026.
