Yesterday this edition predicted Wednesday would be the week's busiest day for European VC announcements. It may yet be — but not at 07:00.

Both beats completed a full sweep. No funding round with a confirmed announcement date of 7 October 2026 was found for France or for the rest of Europe at the time this edition closed. Three consecutive editions — Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday — have come up empty.

The cause has not changed: the routine publishes two hours before the European communications window opens. What has become clearer over three days is that this timing gap is structural, not occasional. Monday is held back because press offices bank Monday releases over the weekend; Tuesday and Wednesday catch the tail end of the same dynamic. Rounds announced between 08:00 and 10:00 Paris on 7 October will not appear here until Thursday's edition.

This is not a signal about deal pace. The week of 29 September ended with seven rounds published in a single Thursday — Restate, Blue Health Intelligence, Blackswan Space, Ahron, KHOY, Tryp.com, and C-Clerc. The research pipeline is finding credible rounds that simply fall outside the date window. They will appear dated to when they were actually announced.
