The week's thread — 27 September 2026
ProYarn weekly: 22 rounds, ~€160M, nine countries, 22–26 September. Agent deployment and governance forming simultaneously; France led, Berlin cluster emerged.
Twenty-two rounds with disclosed amounts totalling roughly €160 million crossed the wire this week across nine countries, from Monday 22 to Saturday 26 September — the most active stretch ProYarn has covered in a single week this year. One round had an undisclosed amount (Eevi, Amsterdam).
The week's genuine through-line was not "AI is funding well" — that sentence could describe any week of 2026. It was something more structural: AI agent deployment and the governance infrastructure required to operate it responsibly forming at the same time, in the same week, across the same ecosystem.
Six companies raised to put AI agents to work in specific professional domains: Zeliq (sales outreach agents, €7M seed extension), Reecall (voice AI for SaaS platforms, €3.5M), 50skills (HR workflow agents, €5.3M Series A), Spiich (sales admin automation, €3M seed), Spott (AI-native recruitment operations, €18.3M Series A), BIOLEVATE (lab compliance automation, €30M Series A). Running alongside them, three raised to constrain or audit those same agents: Kontext (runtime enforcement for AI agent tool calls, €3.5M seed), Palma.ai (agent governance and audit layer, €1.7M pre-seed), and F13 (foundation models for structured vector graphics — precise outputs where approximate is unusable, €4.7M pre-seed). The stack is legible: deploy, govern, police. It did not coalesce by design; it surfaced from different founders, cities, and investor theses arriving at the same structural moment.
France led by count; Berlin emerged as a cluster
Seven of the week's rounds came from France — the most of any country: BIOLEVATE (€30M, the week's largest single round), Kheops (€12M Series A, connecting local food suppliers to supermarket stores at scale), Primo (€6.9M, IT management agents), Relaisanté (€6M, hospital discharge coordination), Zeliq (€7M, Paris), Reecall (€3.5M, Lyon), and Lightspring (€3.1M seed, photonic chip packaging for AI data centres). Total disclosed French capital: roughly €68 million — 43% of the week's total.
Four rounds came from Germany, all from Berlin or Munich: mika (€6M seed, German tax compliance for GmbHs), F13 (€4.7M pre-seed, vector graphics), Palma.ai (€1.7M pre-seed, agent governance), and Kontext (€3.5M seed, agent security). Berlin appeared in at least one round every day this week from Tuesday onward — a cluster that is either coincidence or something more durable. The next six months will clarify which.
Not everything was agentic AI
The week had important outliers. StandardX (London, £10M/€11.8M seed) raised to build an accelerator-based isotope refinery for cancer medicine and fusion energy — a deeptech bet with no software layer and a production horizon measured in years, not quarters. Metris Energy (London, €4.35M seed) manages more than 10,000 solar plants and raised to extend into wind and CHP. Clastix (Naples, €2.9M seed) supplies the Kubernetes control-plane infrastructure Mistral runs on: a round about the plumbing, not the model. Gamindo (Treviso, €1.4M seed) is replacing passive corporate e-learning modules with AI-generated decision simulations — an EdTech bet anchored by four Bending Spoons co-founders investing together, which is the round's most interesting signal. Duqu (Amsterdam, €1.5M pre-seed) advances cash against unpaid invoices for SMBs using AI credit assessment: a fintech bet that the unit economics of invoice financing can be made to work at ticket sizes traditional lenders won't touch.
Investor activity
Balderton Capital made two investments in three days: Unit1 Studio (AI avatar concerts, €18.4M, 20 September) and Spott (€18.3M Series A, 23 September). firstminute capital participated in StandardX (London) and Benford (Oslo, €5M pre-seed, a licensed audit firm built on live ERP data). Global Founders Capital backed both Primo (Paris) and Benford (Oslo) in the same week — two investments pointing at enterprise AI from different angles: one in IT management tooling, one in AI-native audit delivery.
What the week doesn't settle
Twenty-two rounds and €160 million in five days is notable. What it does not prove is whether this pace sustains through Q4 or whether the week reflects a cohort of companies that had planned September announcements since the summer. The agentic stack that formed in public this week — deploy, govern, police — will need 12 to 18 months of real deployment to show whether the layering is load-bearing or whether the governance layer is buying time for technology that is not yet reliable enough to govern.
