“People don't hate corporate training. They hate wasting time. When content genuinely speaks to their job, asks them to make decisions, and lets them immediately put what they've learned into practice, the whole experience changes completely.”
Nicolò Santin — CEO & Co-founder, Gamindo

Gamindo (Treviso, Italy) has raised €1.4 million in a Seed round backed by Club degli Investitori, Vento, Doorway, Zanichelli Venture, and a constellation of angel investors including four co-founders of Bending Spoons (Luca Ferrari, Matteo Danieli, Francesco Patarnello, Luca Querella), Luca Maestri (former Apple CFO), Riccardo Zacconi (founder of King.com), Claudio Erba and Alessio Artuffo (founder and CEO of Docebo), and Duccio Vitali (CEO of Alkemy Group). The company has built an AI-powered platform that replaces passive corporate e-learning with scenario-based, decision-led training modules.

Founded by Nicolò Santin (CEO) and Matteo Albrizio (CPO), Gamindo operates in the gap between what e-learning software currently produces and what actually changes employee behaviour. Standard modules present information and test recall; Gamindo's approach is to simulate the situations employees face and ask them to make the same decisions they'd make on the job.

The format problem in corporate learning

The research on e-learning effectiveness is not flattering. Completion rates for mandatory corporate training hover in the 20-40% range across industries; knowledge retention at 90 days after completion is typically below 10%. Companies spend billions annually on learning management systems and content libraries, with measurable outcomes for compliance checkbox purposes and little evidence of behavioural change in the roles that matter.

Santin's framing is direct: "People don't hate corporate training. They hate wasting time. When content genuinely speaks to their job, asks them to make decisions, and lets them immediately put what they've learned into practice, the whole experience changes completely."

The AI component in Gamindo's platform addresses the production bottleneck. Building scenario-based training has historically required instructional designers to map decision trees by hand — a process that is slow and expensive at scale. AI generation of scenario content, personalised by job role, compresses that production cost and makes the format viable for companies that can't afford bespoke training development.

The angel network

The investor roster carries more signal than the headline figure. Four co-founders of Bending Spoons — the Milan-based consumer app company that has become Italy's most successful software business — investing together in an early-stage edtech round is unusual. It suggests the founders have earned trust inside Italy's tightest technology network, which matters both for follow-on capital and for commercial introductions to large enterprise customers.

Luca Maestri's participation is notable separately. As Apple's CFO for a decade, Maestri was responsible for capital allocation at a company that has built one of the world's largest corporate training operations (AppleSeed, AppleCare training at scale). His investment is a signal about the product's credibility in enterprise contexts, not just early-stage optimism.

The round funds headcount growth, a new AI-powered training vertical, and the international commercial expansion that Gamindo has signalled as the primary use of the capital.
