Reecall raises €3.5M to sell white-label voice AI to software publishers
White-label voice AI platform sold to B2B SaaS publishers, letting software vendors embed a branded conversational AI layer into their products without building it in-house.
“In three years, most business software will embed a conversational layer, and very few will build it themselves. Value will shift to those who know how to industrialise it. Reecall had the courage to leave a model that was working to position itself exactly there.”
Reecall (Lyon) has raised €3.5 million led by Founders Future, with Holnest (the family office of Jean-Michel Aulas), Mesh (CCI Lyon's investment vehicle), angels Francis Nappez (BlaBlaCar co-founder, joining the board) and Sébastien Lucas (Choose), and existing backers Evolem, Newfund, and Kima Ventures following on. Founded in 2019 by Maxime Trouché (CEO) and Raphaël Szymocha, the company has pivoted from direct-to-business voice AI to a white-label model, selling its platform to B2B SaaS publishers who embed it into their own products. Stage was not disclosed.
Revenue is up 4x in the eight months since the pivot. Current clients include Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, Simplify, and Obat; the platform has handled more than 30 million calls.
The pivot
Reecall's original model put the company in direct contact with end clients — businesses buying voice AI to automate their customer interactions. The new model removes Reecall from the end-client relationship entirely. SaaS publishers integrate the platform and sell it under their own brand. Trouché is candid about why: "Nobody knew how to industrialise voice AI across a large base of end clients."
The white-label architecture is an admission that the distribution problem is best solved through existing software relationships rather than direct sales. Founders Future's Louis Sautet backs that reading: "In three years, most business software will embed a conversational layer, and very few will build it themselves. Value will shift to those who know how to industrialise it. Reecall had the courage to leave a model that was working to position itself exactly there."
The Nappez signal
Francis Nappez joining the board is the round's most pointed detail. As a BlaBlaCar co-founder, Nappez built a marketplace that scaled from France across three dozen countries and managed the vendor relationships that growth requires. His presence on a Lyon voice AI company's board is either a real distribution play into the mid-market SaaS ecosystem he knows, or a prominent name that stays advisory. The answer will be visible in whether Reecall closes publisher partnerships in sectors outside its current base in the next twelve months.
The more reliable signal is the existing investors following on. Evolem, Newfund, and Kima Ventures funded the old model and are backing the new one with fresh capital. That choice is not cheap, and it is the clearest vote of confidence in the pivot.
