Delos raises €10M Series A to export its autonomous AI workers to the US

Delos (Paris) has raised €10 million in a Series A backed by Bpifrance, C4 Ventures, and Founders Future, announced at France Digitale Day on 16 September 2026. The company, founded in 2023 by brothers Pierre de la Grand'rive (CEO) and Thibaut de la Grand'rive, deploys what it calls AI workers: autonomous agents with persistent identities — their own email address, phone number, and cloud environment — that handle end-to-end business processes inside enterprise organisations.

The round follows a €2.5 million seed (April 2025, led by 20VC, with Kima Ventures and founders of Pigment and Dataiku) and brings total funding to €12.5 million. At the time of Series A, Delos reports 300 enterprise clients — including TotalEnergies, MeilleurTaux, Icade, and Cuisines Schmidt — €5 million in ARR (up from €2.5 million one quarter earlier), and 2,000 virtual workers deployed across customer organisations.

What an AI worker actually is

The distinction Delos draws between an AI tool and an AI worker is the product bet. A tool receives a task, executes it, and closes. An AI worker has a persistent identity inside an organisation: it holds a mailbox, attends meetings, maintains long-term memory across every interaction, and can be held accountable to outcomes across time. The worker is onboarded, briefed, and delegated to — the same verbs a manager uses with a new hire.

In practice, the initial use cases are sales-adjacent: prospecting, CRM management, qualification, and follow-up. A Delos sales AI worker reads the CRM, identifies targets, sends personalised outreach, handles objections, and escalates to a human only when a genuine decision point is reached. The company has also built workers for back-office functions — contract processing, financial admin, supplier management — and plans to launch workers for data analysis and financial control.

The claim is not purely rhetorical: the company employs 40 humans and 30 AI workers internally, using its own product to run operations. The internal deployment is the most direct corroboration of the thesis available — and a demonstration argument that is becoming standard practice for agentic startups marketing to sceptical enterprise buyers.

The US bet and why now

Two US technology reference contracts are already signed before the expansion capital lands. The move is deliberate: Pierre de la Grand'rive's framing is that the autonomous AI worker category is being defined now, and a European company that delays a US presence risks ceding the category framing to American players before the market understands the differentiation.

Bpifrance provides public-sector credibility and reference-client access in large French organisations. C4 Ventures brings deep-tech enterprise SaaS distribution expertise across European and US markets. Founders Future — also an investor in ProYarn-covered Outline, Olenbee, and the Founders Future portfolio — specialises in seeding French B2B companies with US ambition at this specific stage. The investor configuration reads as a deliberate combination of French anchor (Bpifrance), international scale-up capability (C4), and structural B2B US-expansion experience (Founders Future).

The 300-client, €5M ARR base at Seed exit is strong by French B2B standards. Whether it translates to US enterprise sales cycles — which are longer, more procurement-layered, and more competitive — at comparable economics is the round's central test.
