Rayon raises €10M Series A to put AI at the heart of interior design software

Rayon (Paris) has raised €10 million in a Series A led by Partech, with continued backing from Northzone, Foundamental, and Seedcamp. Notable angel investors include Norman Foster (Foster + Partners), David Basulto (ArchDaily), and Joe Thomas (Loom). The round brings Rayon's total funding to approximately €16 million. The company builds a browser-native drawing and project management platform specifically designed for interior designers.

What Rayon does

Rayon runs entirely in the browser — no install, no file management. Users import PDFs, images, and DWG plans, work with a library of over 4,000 components, and produce plans, styling boards, specifications, and project schedules in a single shared environment. Changes in a drawing propagate to its specifications; teams can collaborate simultaneously without file-versioning conflicts; drawings can be shared through a link rather than exported.

The platform's existing AI capabilities include a floor plan vectoriser that converts photographed or scanned plans into editable drawings, and a block generator that produces component blocks from photographs. The company's V4 release, expected before the end of 2026, will add full 3D capability and a broader AI suite embedded directly in the drawing layer.

Reference clients include Virgin Atlantic (airport lounges), CityHub (which reports saving approximately €10,000 per month on feasibility studies), Coloc Housing (saving ~€11,000 per month), and design studio Nolt Mathis.

Interior design's software gap

Bastien Dolla, co-founder and CEO, frames the positioning plainly: "People open Rayon in a browser and expect a toy web application, but they discover a performance and a feature set that are better than most legacy CAD software. Our superpower is to make professional-grade CAD software approachable."

The argument is structural. Interior and experiential design has historically been served by architecture software (Revit, AutoCAD) built for larger structures and contractor teams, or by general-purpose consumer tools (Canva, SketchUp Free) that lack professional-grade precision. Rayon's founding premise is that there is a gap between those extremes that a purpose-built product can hold. Réza Malekzadeh, General Partner at Partech, described the opportunity as "how rare this kind of opportunity actually is. Interior design has been underserved by software for decades, and Rayon is the first team we've seen build the design layer this space actually needed."

Series A capital will fund the 3D capability launch, deeper AI integration across the full drawing experience, and the scaling of Rayon's go-to-market operations. Partech previously backed Flease, a French startup building a circular-economy alternative to fleet leasing.
