YGO raises €8M to wire Europe's travel inventory into AI agents
A Berlin-based AI infrastructure company building the distribution layer that makes travel inventory — hotels, flights, tours — natively accessible, queryable and bookable through large language models and AI agents.
“Travel is one of the last major industries still built on infrastructure that was never designed for an AI-first world. We built YGO to change that: to give the travel industry the infrastructure to make its inventory accessible, bookable and ready for AI — whether through their own platforms or through external AI agents.”
YGO (Berlin) has raised an €8 million Series A led by Ventech, the Paris-based venture fund, with participation from Sake Bosch, Caesar, and a group of business angels including founders of FlixBus, HomeToGo, and GetAway Group. Founded in 2023 by Julian Kögel (Co-founder & CEO), Sebastian Kreutzberger, and Willi Ibbeken, YGO builds the AI infrastructure layer that makes travel inventory — hotels, flights, package tours — accessible and bookable through the new generation of AI-powered consumer interfaces.
What YGO builds
The travel industry distributes inventory through a patchwork of GDS platforms, XML feeds, and proprietary APIs built over several decades — none of which AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, or Google's Gemini can natively query or book through without a human handoff. YGO builds the middle layer that fixes this. Its three products work as a stack: AI Distribution ingests raw inventory from accommodation providers, airlines, and tour operators and normalises it into structured, AI-readable formats. Hotel Q&A adds rich contextual intelligence — amenities, policies, proximity data, sentiment summaries — so AI agents can answer natural-language questions about specific properties. Content Enrichment generates the machine-readable descriptions that allow individual products to be surfaced and booked inside an AI conversation without a redirect.
The commercial signal is already in the numbers. Within six months of launch, YGO crossed seven-figure ARR and processed over €15 million in bookings. Named clients include Condor, Bentour, and GetAway Group — distribution-heavy travel operators whose business depends on intermediary platforms, and whose interest in YGO is a direct bet that AI-native distribution will replace at least part of that dependency.
"Online travel booking is undergoing its biggest structural shift in decades but most of the industry's infrastructure was never built for it," said Nicolas Barthalon, Partner at Ventech. "YGO's customers are already re-owning their customer relationships with AI and putting real KPI uplifts on the board to prove it."
Ventech's third European infrastructure bet in twelve months
The Series A is Ventech's third infrastructure investment tracked by this publication in the past year. In July, the firm led Naaia's €6M Série A — a Paris-based compliance layer that monitors AI deployments against the EU AI Act in real time. In August, Ventech co-led amber's €7M Series A in Aachen — an AI knowledge platform for European SMEs. YGO extends the thesis into distribution infrastructure: each of the three companies operates at the friction point where a legacy industry process meets the AI layer that needs to sit above it. Compliance, knowledge, distribution — different surfaces, same structural bet.
The €8 million will go toward expanding YGO's commercial team beyond the German-speaking market and deepening the AI orchestration platform that underpins the product stack. A MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration already makes YGO's inventory feeds natively readable by the major AI assistants — the company is building on a protocol becoming standard rather than a proprietary API that locks partners into a single model.
The 18-month test is execution in the enterprise segment. YGO's DACH clients validate the product; what the Series A needs to produce is a first wave of named European travel companies outside Germany committing to the infrastructure. The FlixBus and HomeToGo founders at the cap table bring networks, not just capital — and in travel, those networks are the faster path to the next tier of enterprise accounts.
