Orbio raises €18.1M Series A to run the frontline workforce on AI agents
An AI workforce platform that automates frontline hiring, onboarding and management for large enterprises.
“This is not a talent shortage problem, it's a talent allocation problem. The people are there. The work is there. What's been missing is the ability to connect frontline workers with opportunities quickly, consistently and at scale.”
Madrid-based Orbio has raised a €18.1 million ($21 million) Series A led by Dawn Capital, with existing backer Visionaries returning. The round follows a €6.4 million raise in September 2025 and lands less than a year after the company was founded.
A talent-allocation problem
Orbio's thesis, in co-founder and CEO Sergi Bastardas's words, is that the frontline labour market is mis-matched rather than empty: the people and the work both exist, but nothing connects them fast enough. The company builds AI agents that take over the operational grind of frontline workforce management — sourcing and screening candidates, onboarding them, and handling the day-to-day of large, high-turnover teams in sectors like retail, logistics and hospitality.
It is a deliberately unglamorous corner of enterprise software, and a large one. Frontline staff make up the majority of the global workforce yet sit on the least-digitised HR stack, which is precisely what makes an agent-led approach attractive: the work is repetitive, high-volume and currently done by overstretched human teams.
Founders and backing
The founding team is a roster of repeat Spanish operators — Bastardas (who previously co-founded Colvin), Nacho Travesí (CRO, co-founder of Cobee) and Antonio Melé (CTO, co-founder of Nucoro). That pedigree, plus Dawn Capital's specialism in B2B software, is part of why an €18 million Series A landed for a company barely a year old.
The capital funds expansion into new markets, growth across enterprise customers, and a wider AI-agent suite spanning the full employee lifecycle. Orbio is wagering that "hire, onboard, manage" for the frontline becomes an agent-run workflow — and that the enterprises running those teams will pay to stop doing it by hand.
