Kompa raises €1.5M Seed to automate admin for France's construction SMEs
An AI administrative platform for French construction SMEs (BTP) that automates quoting, invoicing, compliance documentation, and project file management for businesses that currently manage these tasks manually.
Kompa (Paris) has raised €1.5 million in a Seed round backed by Welovefounders, Imagination Machine, and Super Capital, announced around 15 September 2026. The company, founded in 2025 by Pierre Marneffe and Tristan Daeschner, is building an AI administrative platform for French construction SMEs — the bâtiment et travaux publics (BTP) sector, where tens of thousands of small businesses manage their back-office largely through spreadsheets, manual document generation, and time spent on administrative compliance.
The timing is not accidental. Kompa and Bravi — the Cholet-based joinery AI company that raised a $1.8 million YC Seed in the same week — both arrived at the market simultaneously from different angles: Bravi from the trades sector (joinery, habitat), Kompa from the broader BTP construction SME base. Two funded teams targeting the same structural administrative burden in adjacent parts of the French construction ecosystem in the same week is less coincidence than a convergence of evidence that the gap is real enough to attract multiple credible attempts at once.
What Kompa automates
French construction SMEs carry a specific administrative load. Every project generates a stack of compliance documents: calls for tender, work orders, technical files, certificates of completion, KBIS extracts, Décennale insurance certificates, suretés de paiement. The quoting process requires collating labour and materials costs against market rates. Invoicing is tied to construction-specific milestone structures, not standard SaaS billing. And the regulatory environment — Qualibat certifications, mandatory warranties, site safety documentation — adds a layer of mandatory paperwork on top of the commercial workflow.
Kompa's platform automates the generation, filing, and tracking of this documentation stack. The company positions it as an AI back-office that knows the BTP sector — not generic document automation, but a system pre-loaded with the specific compliance structure of French construction. Whether the sector specificity is genuinely differentiated or merely surface-level templating is the product question the €1.5 million is buying time to answer.
The investor base
Welovefounders is the Paris-based early-stage fund with a strong track record in French B2B software at pre-product and early-traction stage. Its presence as a lead (or early lead) at this round size is consistent with its investment profile. Imagination Machine and Super Capital complete the round with a combination of early-stage conviction and French B2B network access.
The €1.5 million is a deliberately small raise for a company that has correctly sized its runway needs: build the core product, sign the first ten to twenty clients in the BTP sector, demonstrate retention and reduction in administrative hours, and raise a larger round with those numbers. The construction SME market is fragmented enough that early traction can be achieved regionally before scaling nationally — which means the path from Seed to Series A is legible even at this round size, provided the product genuinely saves time on the document workflows it targets.
