Health Force raises €4.2M to deploy AI agents across European hospitals

Health Force (Barcelona) has raised €4.2 million in a Seed round led by LUMO Labs, with participation from Step Venture, Next Tier Ventures, Target Global, and Calm/Storm. The round, announced 17 September 2026, funds European market expansion for a company founded in Vienna in 2022 by Fadi Haddad (CEO) and Dr. Juan Suárez, which deploys AI agents inside hospitals to automate administrative workflows. The company reports that three out of four cases are completed by the agent without human involvement; the remaining case is prepared by the agent and handed to staff with exactly what needs checking already identified.

The framing is deliberately operational rather than aspirational: Health Force's agents do not assist with clinical decisions. They perform the administrative work that consumes a disproportionate share of clinical staff time in European hospitals — prior authorisations, insurance claims processing, scheduling, documentation — using the same software interfaces that human administrators use.

The adoption architecture

Healthcare enterprise software has a specific adoption problem that most AI tools do not solve. European hospitals — public and private — run on legacy ERP and electronic health record systems (Epic, SAP, various national platforms) that took years and significant capital to implement. Proposals to introduce new systems require institutional procurement processes that typically run twelve to twenty-four months and involve clinical, IT, and financial sign-off. Software that requires system integration is software that gets stuck.

Health Force's approach is to bypass the integration question. Its agents log into existing hospital software using the same credentials and interfaces that human staff use. From the IT architecture's perspective, the agent is another authorised user, not a new system. This reduces the procurement barrier significantly: if it works in a test environment with current credentials, it works — no IT project required.

The company reports three-in-four autonomous completion as a headline metric. In the context of prior authorisation processing, where the task is to retrieve patient records, match them against payer criteria, and submit a standardised request, a 75% automation rate at the current volume of cases represents a material reduction in administrative staff time. The remaining cases — those that require a human judgment call — are prepared and flagged rather than dropped.

European expansion across three markets

The round funds a three-market expansion: France, Spain, and Germany. Each presents a different payer and documentation environment: French hospitals operate under the assurance maladie system, German hospitals under a Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) framework with Krankenkasse payers, and Spanish hospitals under a mix of regional health systems and private insurance. The agents will need to be configured for each regulatory environment, which is the technical and commercial work the funding is designed to support.

LUMO Labs' lead brings a track record in European health technology investment. Target Global — a Berlin-based fund with broad European portfolio exposure — is the largest external validator in terms of fund profile, suggesting confidence that the market opportunity is significant enough to justify a pan-European build.
