Ten rounds from the week of 14–18 September, surfaced through weekend aggregators — the FrenchWeb weekly roundup and the EU-Startups funding feed — not captured in the daily editions. All ten are published today as standalone deal stories dated to their original announcement dates.

The dominant thread is AI agents entering regulated professional workflows. Three companies are placing that bet in adjacent categories: Integral (Berlin, accounting), Complir (Copenhagen, product compliance), Opio (Paris, financial due diligence). The structural argument in all three is the same — a layer of expert work is procedurally defined, repeatable, and automatable — and General Catalyst co-led two of those three (Complir and Integral) in the same week, which is a deliberate thesis signal. Two construction-AI companies (Bravi, Kompa) applied the same logic to the same French SME sector simultaneously. Three others (Aitiologic, Big Picture Bio, Phosphoenix) are building AI-augmented diagnostics and biomedical hardware at different development stages. Arcos adds physical operations — a civil security managed-response layer for European critical infrastructure, driven by NIS2 and CER.

The German-Nordic cluster

Integral (Berlin, 16 September) raised €18 million in a Series A co-led by Mosaic Ventures and Reid Hoffman, with Cherry Ventures, General Catalyst, and Puzzle Ventures. Founded in 2024 by Lukas Zörner and Anil Can Baykal, Integral is an AI-native accounting and tax firm: AI agents handle bookkeeping end-to-end for more than half of clients today, compressing turnaround from weeks to hours, with licensed German tax professionals reviewing and signing every result. Germany has ~100,000 licensed Steuerberater for 3.5 million SMEs — a ratio under structural pressure as the profession ages. Zörner: "Software doesn't file your business's taxes. It doesn't run your payroll and it doesn't sign your annual accounts. A licensed professional does, and there are fewer of them every year. So instead of building yet another tool for professionals, we built the firm itself."

Complir (Copenhagen, 16 September) raised $11 million (~€10 million) in a Seed led by General Catalyst, with Vendep Capital, True., Liquid 2 Ventures, SV Angel, Ritual Capital, Founders Future, GHARAGE Ventures, Robinhood Ventures, and Y Combinator. Founded in 2024 by Gustav Bang, Tine Kühnel, and Marc Kaa Brejner, Complir maps product portfolios against applicable regulations across markets at SKU level, monitors regulatory changes, and generates required documentation — cutting repetitive compliance work by up to 90%. Flying Tiger Copenhagen is an early customer. The round funds 70% go-to-market (including a New York office within six months) and 30% engineering. General Catalyst's co-investment in both Complir and Integral signals a deliberate thesis.

Austria and Germany: deep tech and security infrastructure

Aitiologic (Vienna, 15 September) raised €6.4 million in an oversubscribed Seed co-led by Heal Capital and Ananda Impact Ventures, with PUSH VC and LANA Ventures reinvesting. Founded by Dr. Andreas E. Posch, the company develops Aitios — a tissue-resolved liquid biopsy platform that identifies tissue of origin from cell-free DNA in a standard blood draw, combining genomic, epigenomic, and fragmentomic signals. The lead clinical program is preeclampsia risk stratification from a first-trimester blood sample; a validation study in 1,000-plus pregnancies is under way with the Fetal Medicine Foundation. Dr. Gordon Sanghera CBE FRS (co-founder and former CEO of Oxford Nanopore Technologies) has joined the advisory board. Posch: "We have moved from a technology hypothesis to published clinical data and now into an ongoing large-scale validation study."

Arcos (Munich, 18 September) raised €5.5 million in a Seed led by HTGF and Bayern Kapital, with Pact, Haufe, and Robin Capital. Founded by Louis Wübben and Moritz Steigerwald, Arcos builds and operates integrated civil security infrastructure — processing sensor signals from homes, rail lines, substations, and data centres, assessing incidents, and managing them through to closure. The model is deliberately operational: not just a platform but a 24/7 managed response layer. HTGF, which also backed syte this month, leads. Steigerwald: "Europe has understood that its safety is its own responsibility, and that this includes the infrastructure everyday life runs on: power, transport, water, data."

France: professional AI and the construction SME gap

Opio (Paris, 16 September) raised €4 million in a Seed backed by Frst, Seedcamp, and GFC, with angels including Arthur Waller (Pennylane) and Stanislas Polu (Dust). Founded in 2025 by Tristan Fulchiron and Olivier Chancé, Opio connects to deal data rooms and automates the financial data collection, structuring, and analysis preparation that occupies junior Transaction Services and audit professionals. The platform is deployed at Forvis Mazars Group and BDO across 15 countries; international revenue is already 15% of total. Fulchiron: "A large share of junior professionals' time currently goes on collecting, checking and adjusting data before it can be interpreted." The round funds a second product for statutory auditors (Q1 2027) and UK/Germany expansion.

Laboratoires üma (Lyon, 18 September) raised €4 million in a Seed backed by The Moon Venture, Le DealClub, and Kima Ventures. Founded in 2023 by Priscaël Tovolahy-Gauvin, üma makes hormone-free supplements for perimenopause and menopause — with 100,000-plus customers and a profitable DTC operation before raising any institutional capital. That ordering is unusual in consumer health and the round's most notable fact.

Big Picture Bio (London, 18 September) emerged from stealth with a €2.55 million Pre-Seed co-led by Kadmos Capital and Exceptional Ventures, plus a £700,000 Innovate UK grant. Founded by Dr. Kerstin Papenfuss (CEO) and Dr. Mark Hammond (CTO), both from Deep Science Ventures, the company builds a generative AI world model simulating tumour-immune-tissue interactions to identify optimal cancer drug combinations computationally — replacing a pairwise screening approach that would require ~50 million lab experiments. The model correctly forecast Regeneron's fianlimab trial failure and posted 12/14 accurate ASCO 2026 predictions. Papenfuss: "Cancer is not one disease driven by one target, but we still develop drugs as if it were. Combinations are how we beat it — and with more than 900 billion of them possible, no lab on earth can test its way to the right ones."

Phosphoenix (Amsterdam, 18 September) raised €1.3 million from TTT Medtech Fund, FIRST Fund, Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland, and new backer ROM InWest to prepare its lateral geniculate nucleus (LGN) neuroprosthetic for a first-in-human study at Amsterdam UMC. The 2019 KNAW spinout — founded by Prof. Pieter Roelfsema, Prof. Xing Chen, and Dr. Bert Monna — is targeting profound blindness caused by conditions that existing retinal or cortical prosthetics cannot reach. Stage not stated in source; CEO Hans Brons describes the company as building towards a Series A.

Two construction-AI companies raised in the same week, targeting the same administrative burden from different angles. Bravi (Cholet, 17 September) raised $1.8 million (~€1.65 million) in a Seed backed by Y Combinator (F25), Rebel, Embedding VC, Deel Ventures, and Bpifrance to automate quoting, project management, and admin for joinery and habitat SMEs. Kompa (Paris, 15 September) raised €1.5 million in a Seed backed by Welovefounders, Imagination Machine, and Super Capital to automate the same back-office load for BTP construction SMEs broadly — compliance documents, invoices, project files. Two simultaneous bets, one sector-specific, one horizontal, both reading the same structural gap.
