The wire — 5 August 2026
Four rounds surfacing from 4 August — announced yesterday, caught in this morning's sweep. Total: approximately €44 million across four companies in four countries. The summer lull did not hold on Monday.
Ore Energy (Amsterdam, €37.3 million, Series A; Plural and HV Capital co-lead, Positron Ventures) is the week's lead story by a wide margin. The company stores surplus renewable electricity for up to 100 hours using iron, water, and air — no lithium, no cobalt — and has signed a 1 GWh commercial agreement with Budget Thuis alongside pilot work with EDF. Plural, which participated in Isometric's €34 million Series A in July as an existing investor, co-leads this round — a move from follower to co-lead within a single month that is the sharpest signal of conviction in the summer's climate syndicate.
Exclaim Robotics (Zürich, €4.29 million, Pre-Seed; Founderful and Playfair co-lead) exits stealth to build autonomous mobile robots for AI data centre maintenance — starting with break-fix tasks at the rack face as next-generation facilities distribute power at 800 volts DC, making routine maintenance hazardous. Helen Oleynikova, CEO and founder, brings 15 years across Willow Garage, Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and ETH Zürich, including co-authorship of nvblox, the 3D mapping library now shipped in NVIDIA Isaac ROS. Playfair, which backed Astral Systems earlier this year, adds a second physical-autonomy bet to its portfolio.
Aavalynx (London, €1.75 million, Pre-Seed; Omega Ventures lead, Two Ravens, angels) builds an AI-native intelligence platform for corporate dispute resolution — positioning disputes as a financial risk category for the CFO rather than a legal event for the GC. Founded in 2023 by dispute resolution lawyer Hanna Roos, the company claims 30x ROI in saved damages and fees at early deployments.
Shiplog (Paris, €808K, Pre-Seed; Kima Ventures and Project Europe co-lead, Purple, No Label Ventures, 100IN, Station F Fund) builds Ada, an AI agent that evaluates every customer individually and decides the next best action across the full lifecycle in real time — what the company calls a "segment of one". Founded in 2026 by Khushi Mehta and Mehdi Gribaa, based at Station F. Kima Ventures also backed Rivage in the recent window — its second ProYarn-covered early-stage French commitment in quick succession.
The day in numbers
~€44 million across 4 rounds in 4 countries. The Netherlands led by capital (€37.3 million, Ore Energy). Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and France each placed one round. Stage distribution: one Series A, three Pre-Seeds. All four were announced 4 August and surfaced in today's sweep — the previous routine ran before they cleared.
Two strands connect the four. The first is physical AI infrastructure: Ore Energy and Exclaim Robotics are both building hardware to sustain the data centre buildout that AI infrastructure requires — one at the energy layer, one at the maintenance layer. The second is AI software intelligence: Aavalynx and Shiplog both build reasoning systems that replace human judgment calls inside business processes — disputes in one case, customer interactions in the other. The hardware strand spent more; the software strand has more companies.
Plural and Playfair each appear twice in ProYarn's coverage within a month — the most consistent cross-round signals in today's edition.
