Plinto raises €2.9M pre-seed to deploy AI agents in real-time financial controlling
A Copenhagen-based fintech company building AI agents that verify enterprise transactions in real time against contracts and payment terms, catching errors and duplicates the moment they occur across ERP systems and bank feeds.
“Many of our customers work with low margins, so even small errors can quickly add up. The problem is not that companies lack data — it is that checking every transaction manually is simply not possible at scale.”
Plinto (Copenhagen) has raised a €2.9M pre-seed led by People Ventures and Emblem (co-lead), with participation from business angels. Founded in 2025 by four alumni of Peakon — Nermina Suljevic (CEO), Jakob Nielsen (CDO), Sebastian Rehnby, and Andreas Garnæs (CTO) — the company builds AI agents that verify enterprise financial transactions against the contracts and rules that govern them, in real time.
The problem Plinto is solving
Enterprise finance teams receive thousands of invoices, purchase orders, and bank transactions each month. Every one of those transactions is logged in the ERP. Almost none of them is verified, at the moment of arrival, against the contract price, the agreed payment terms, or the duplicate-check logic that would catch the same invoice being processed twice. That verification happens in batches, manually, typically at month-end — which means errors are discovered weeks after they occur, when correcting them requires credit notes, supplier negotiations, and manual reconciliation.
Plinto deploys AI agents that run this check continuously. The agents connect to the company's ERP — Microsoft Business Central, Xero, Visma — monitor every incoming transaction, and cross-reference each against the relevant contracts and payment terms. Errors, deviations, and duplicates are flagged and routed through Slack or Microsoft Teams the moment they occur, rather than accumulating until the next reconciliation cycle. The platform also connects to more than 2,700 banks for full cash-position visibility alongside the ERP data. Customers in logistics, real estate, facility services, and food production — industries with thin margins and high transaction volumes — are already using the platform.
The results are documented. One Plinto customer identified 430 deviations per month that had previously gone undetected. Another caught a duplicate invoice in the same minute it was submitted. Data is processed in the EU, and no customer data is used for AI model training.
Ex-Peakon founders, Copenhagen backing
Peakon was sold to Workday in 2021 for approximately $700M. Its business was a data-collection and analytics layer on top of a process — employee feedback — that organisations were running informally. Plinto is the same structural bet in a different domain: financial controlling is a process every company runs, but almost none runs with systematic real-time verification.
People Ventures, the Copenhagen pre-seed fund, led the round alongside Emblem, a pan-European pre-seed investor. The combination gives Plinto local market access in Denmark alongside broader European distribution. Funds will support product development, expansion into enterprise customer segments, and geographic growth beyond Denmark.
