Itoflow raises $2.5M Pre-Seed to build AI portfolio management agents for investment firms
A London-based AI company building research and portfolio management agents for professional investment firms — giving fund managers and allocators access to institutional-grade intelligence designed by quant and infrastructure veterans.
Itoflow (London) has raised $2.5 million (approximately £1.8 million) in a Pre-Seed round led by Balderton Capital, with angel participation from Barney Hussey-Yeo, the founder of personal finance AI app Cleo. The company was founded in 2026 by Aditya Jha (CEO), who spent nine years as a quantitative researcher at JPMorgan, RBC, and Tower Research Capital; the co-founding team brings infrastructure engineering experience from Apple, Google, and Microsoft.
Itoflow builds AI research and portfolio management agents for professional investment firms. The product gives fund managers, family offices, and multi-strategy allocators a single system that ingests market intelligence across disparate sources — terminal data, earnings calls, internal models, research documents — and surfaces research, portfolio analysis, and risk exposure continuously. Balderton's framing for the raise, "institutional-grade portfolio management for every investment firm," positions Itoflow as extending a capability tier previously accessible only to the largest buyside platforms.
The data-silo problem that incumbents profit from
Professional investment firms typically run Bloomberg for pricing and news, a separate system for fixed-income or equity data, proprietary models for risk, and PDFs for research — and none of those sources communicate with one another without manual integration. AI agents designed to read across all of them simultaneously are not available inside any incumbent terminal today. That is the gap Itoflow is addressing.
The augmentation framing matters commercially. Bloomberg's annual revenue exceeds £6 billion; LSEG acquired Refinitiv for $27 billion. Both moats were built before AI agents existed as a real product category, and neither has so far shipped an agent layer that operates across third-party data sources. Positioning Itoflow as a layer that works on top of existing terminal infrastructure rather than around it makes the product legible to procurement decisions embedded in decades of buyside habit.
Balderton's bet on the team
Balderton Capital — whose portfolio spans Revolut, Wolt, and Depop — is writing a pre-seed cheque at a stage significantly earlier than its typical entry. That signals a conviction about founding-team quality rather than product traction. Aditya Jha's nine years across JPMorgan, RBC, and Tower Research Capital provides the specific technical credentialling that institutional buyers examine before authorising external system access to regulated portfolios. The engineering co-founders' infrastructure backgrounds at large technology companies strengthen the case that the product will meet the reliability and latency requirements that live portfolio management demands.
Barney Hussey-Yeo's angel position reinforces the narrative from a different angle. Cleo democratised the AI financial intelligence that wealth managers had long provided to high-net-worth clients; Itoflow applies the same logic to professional allocators who lack the budget for a full institutional data stack. Hussey-Yeo's participation suggests the consumer-fintech lesson — that trust is the distribution constraint in fintech — is visible in the institutional channel too.
The capital goes to deepening engineering and quantitative research capacity, accelerating product development, and building the commercial and compliance infrastructure required for sales into regulated investment firms.
