The wire — 14 October 2026

in𝕏✆

Wednesday's new-announcement window is quiet — nothing qualifying surfaced for 14 October. Today's wire delivers instead the standalone deal story promised in the 13 October brief: HyLight's €13 million round, announced Monday 12 October, held back then for want of a second source and now fully corroborated across six.

HyLight (Paris, €13M) builds and operates the HyLighter, a 12-metre autonomous airship that runs on hydrogen fuel cells, flies BVLOS for up to ten hours, and carries LiDAR, cameras, and methane detectors that deliver 1 mm/pixel imaging at 25 metres altitude. It is already replacing helicopter inspection missions for Enedis, NaTran, Téréga, VINCI, and SNCF Réseau. The new capital — from Rubio Impact Ventures, DRW, and Teampact Ventures, with existing backers Y Combinator and Ring Capital renewing — will take the fleet from four to fifteen aircraft by 2027 and open commercial positions in Germany and the Netherlands. No stage label was applied at announcement. Founded 2022 by Martin Bocken, Josef Rokůsek, and Thomas Laporte (average age 27).

One round from October 14 failed the two-source test and was held: Affinity Labs (London, pre-seed, ~€1.8M), for which only one funding-announcement source was available at publication time.

Next edition: Thursday 15 October 2026.
