The wire — 16 September 2026
Six rounds, five from Monday and one from today. There is no single thread across all of them. There are two.
The first: the cost of intelligence. EUCLYD (Eindhoven, 15 September) has closed over €200 million in a Series A co-led by Samsung and EQT's Scaleup Europe Fund — the largest single early-stage deep tech raise in Europe this year by a significant margin — to build custom AI silicon designed to reduce cost-per-token in foundation model inference. The premise is engineering, not vision: memory bandwidth is the bottleneck in transformer inference, and existing general-purpose GPUs were not designed for it. Peter Wennink, ex-ASML CEO, has joined the board as Chairman. The round is the infrastructure bet for everything that follows.
The second strand is agentic AI taking over discrete professional workflows — and EUCLYD is the reason the economics of that strand are becoming viable. Jack & Jill (London, 15 September) raised £30 million (~€34.7 million) in a Series A led by Air Street Capital to scale its dual-agent hiring marketplace: Jack talks to candidates, Jill talks to employers, and an introduction happens only when both agents conclude the match is worth making. 350,000 professionals and 5,000 businesses are on the platform; 25,000 interviews have been arranged. Founded in March 2025 by Matt Wilson (ex-Omnipresent/Deel) and Saaras Mehan (ex-Kular YC W22), the company's US expansion — January in San Francisco, June in New York — is what this round is funding.
Delos (Paris, today) closes a €10 million Series A backed by Bpifrance, C4 Ventures, and Founders Future, announced at France Digitale Day. The Paris company deploys named AI workers — with their own email addresses, phone numbers, and long-term memory — that handle sales prospecting, CRM management, and back-office operations inside enterprise organisations. 300 clients, €5 million ARR, 2,000 virtual workers deployed. Two US technology reference contracts already signed; the round funds the transatlantic move. CEO Pierre de la Grand'rive: "We are not creating yet another tool: we are giving companies new colleagues."
EnforceShield (Vilnius, 15 September) raised €1.7 million in a Seed led by Vendep Capital to automate the complete IP enforcement workflow — detection, legal analysis, takedown execution, monitoring — for brand owners who can no longer afford to enforce manually at scale. Founded in 2024 by practising attorney Rytis Rudzinskas. 20+ clients, 33,500+ infringements removed monthly. About 80% of the pipeline is US-facing.
Depotcharge (Munich, 15 September) raises €2.7 million in a Pre-Seed led by HTGF to connect unused EV charging capacity at logistics depots into a shared network. The round was announced alongside a partnership with BGL e.V., Germany's road freight association, launching BGL Charge as a named shared-depot charging network for German carriers. The model is hardware-agnostic: no chargers built, no OEM ties — just the marketplace layer between depot capacity and fleet demand.
Magnitude Biosciences (Durham, 15 September) closes £1.3 million (~€1.5 million, stage unstated) with Northstar Ventures and Maven Capital Partners, unlocking a £217k Innovate UK grant. The Durham University spinout, founded in 2018 by Dr. Fozia Saleem, screens drug candidates in living C. elegans nematodes using AI and robotics — whole-organism data at a cost that sits between cell assays and mammalian models. The ambition: millions of compounds screened in whole organisms, industrial-scale equipment in development with Demcon.
One further development ran outside today's window: London's Isometric, which ProYarn covered in June when it closed its €34 million Series A, has extended that round to $50 million total (~€43 million) with Intercontinental Exchange joining as a strategic investor. ICE's entry integrates Isometric's industrial certification platform with the financial market infrastructure ICE operates globally — a materially larger market frame than carbon removal alone.
All rounds from 15 September are annotated to that date in their deal stories.
