One new round today; two from Thursday that passed through three consecutive catch-up editions without surfacing. The honest thread through two of them is legal AI: Resolutiion and Grubel are entering the same market from opposite ends of the contract lifecycle, and both announced this week.

Resolutiion (London) is the day's in-window round: a $10.4 million (€9.5 million) Seed led by LocalGlobe, with Cherry Ventures, Octopus Ventures, and Auxxo. Founded in 2022 by Fayola-Maria Jack — former RAF £6 billion contract portfolio manager, Cabinet Office Complex Transactions alum, founder of the UK government's first Commercial Dispute Resolution Practice — the company builds AI for the contract phase that existing legal AI ignores: post-signature. The platform, Octavia, monitors communications running alongside live contracts and surfaces dispute signals before they become formal claims. The number behind the thesis is specific: 5% of contracts end in disputes, costing £50–90 million per £1 billion in revenue. Use of funds targets defence and energy — sectors where contract complexity and duration make missed signals expensive.

Grubel (Munich, September 10) closes €3 million pre-seed led by Point Nine, with angels Jeff Dean (Google's former chief scientist), Ion Stoica (Databricks co-founder), Chris Ré (Together AI co-founder), and Gabe Pereyra and Winston Weinberg (Harvey co-founders). Founded in 2026 by Moritz Hardt (Max Planck Institute, ex-UC Berkeley) and Reinhard Heckel (TUM, ex-IBM Research), Grubel is building matter-specific AI for complex legal work: a loop that discovers case-relevant data, adapts the model to the matter, and evaluates outputs against the case's own standards. The Harvey co-founders provide the sharpest due diligence possible on this thesis — they know exactly what happens when legal AI meets firm procurement. Point Nine previously backed Aardaia in a consistent thesis: domain-specific AI where general models fail for structural data reasons.

Bynario (Milan, September 10) closes €2.1 million pre-seed led by 360 Capital Partners, with PranaVentures. Founded in 2025 by Alfredo Pesoli, Giancarlo Russo, and Lorenzo Cavallaro, Bynario builds an autonomous vulnerability platform that validates exploitability rather than accumulating signal noise. In August 2026, the team identified serious vulnerabilities in Apple macOS Screen Sharing — disclosed responsibly, patched, covered by the Financial Times — before raising a first round. The Verizon 2026 DBIR puts software vulnerabilities at 31% of enterprise breach entry points. The 18-month question is whether autonomous remediation earns the trust to move from flagging to fixing in production.

Resolutiion and Grubel share a market but not a workflow: one monitors live contracts for dispute signals, the other builds case-specific AI systems for the work that follows when disputes — or any complex matter — must be actively managed. Bynario is its own strand.
