The wire — 31 August 2026

in𝕏

August ends on a quiet Monday. A full sweep of European funding media — EU Startups, Maddyness, FrenchWeb, Tech.eu, Sifted, and the French business press — returned no seed or Series A announcements published on 31 August 2026. The reasons are prosaic: European newsrooms typically do not index Monday funding announcements until Tuesday, and the last working day of August is one of the thinnest periods in the European venture calendar.

The week that closed on Friday 28 August was well-covered in the editions from 25 through 30 August: eight rounds, €121M in aggregate, across biotech automation (Adaptyv Bio, Lausanne), plasma agritech (VitalFluid, Eindhoven), quantum simulation (ColibriTD, Paris), humanoid robotics (Motion, Brussels), dental robotics (Lupin Dental, Montpellier), cardiovascular biotech (Revier Therapeutics, Heidelberg), AI hearing care (Clementine, Maastricht), and phase-change building materials (Nanolope, Berlin). The last round of August is already in the archive.

September opens tomorrow. The first two weeks typically mark a sharp recovery in European funding activity as desks reopen and deals held through August begin to clear.
