The wire — 11 August 2026
Monday's triage ran clean and came back empty. Tuesday's sweep picked up two rounds that EU-Startups filed on August 10 — after the Monday desk had already closed — and that clear ProYarn's two-source verification bar. Both rounds are published today with their correct announcement date of 10 August. There is no common thread between them: this is two separate bets in two separate markets, and forcing a connection would manufacture one.
Edgify (London) raised €7.7 million / $9 million in a Series A+ from Rank Ventures and Mangrove Capital Partners, bringing total funding to €21.6 million across seven years. The company runs an edge MLOps platform for physical retail — AI models trained directly on in-store hardware (self-checkouts, cameras, scales) without sending data to the cloud. The primary use case is loss prevention: produce recognition, scan avoidance, product-switching detection. The "A+" label signals an extension on an existing Series A rather than a new round, no lead is named, and the capital is earmarked for expansion into transportation, logistics, and manufacturing. Whether the grocery-tested platform transfers to more heterogeneous industrial hardware is the open question.
Visoid (Oslo) raised €2.16 million / $2.5 million in a Seed round led by Skyfall Ventures, with StartupLab, OBOS, Antler, Farvatn, and byFounders Angel Collective participating. Founded in 2023 by former architect Mark Szoke and serial entrepreneur Joachim Holwech, the company converts existing 3D architectural models into high-quality visualisations in minutes without requiring architects to change their current software. Named clients include OMA, LEO A DALY, and Sweco Group — demanding practices that lend credibility to the commercial-grade claim. Skyfall co-led HIVE Autonomy's pre-Series A in July, making Visoid its second Nordic AI bet in as many months.
France remains dark. Maddyness's funding coverage has been dormant since mid-July; lespepitestech's week-32 roundup has not published; EU-Startups has not filed a France-tagged funding article since 6 August. The Assumption holiday on 15 August keeps the French calendar structurally quiet through the rest of this week. Coverage resumes when qualifying rounds surface.
