Humanoid closes $152M Series A at €1.1B valuation, with Bosch committed to manufacturing its robots at scale

Humanoid (London) has raised $152 million — approximately €133 million — in a Series A led by Prime Movers Lab. Bosch, Schaeffler, Fubon Financial Holding Venture Capital, and Aglaé Ventures join the syndicate. The round values the company at €1.1 billion ($1.35 billion post-money), which the company describes as making it Europe's first pure-play humanoid robotics unicorn. The round was announced 21 July 2026.

Founded in May 2024 by Artem Sokolov — a manufacturing entrepreneur who previously built and sold a family manufacturing business — Humanoid now employs 160 people and has developed KinetIQ, a proprietary AI platform that powers its autonomous industrial robots. Target deployment environments are logistics, manufacturing, and retail, with commercial Beta rollouts planned for Q4 2026.

The manufacturing bet inside the cap table

The round's most consequential element is not its size but the presence of Bosch — one of Europe's largest industrial manufacturers — as both investor and committed production partner. Bosch's involvement means Humanoid does not need to build or finance production infrastructure at scale from its own balance sheet: the manufacturing capacity already exists within the syndicate. That resolves a recurring constraint for hardware startups at Series A, where capital for product development competes directly with capital for production scale-up.

Schaeffler, a German precision industrial components supplier, reinforces the manufacturing depth of the investor group. Two tier-one European industrials on the same cap table — alongside US deep-tech capital from Prime Movers Lab, Taiwanese institutional money from Fubon Financial, and Aglaé Ventures from Luxembourg — signal that these investment decisions are being made from inside the industries Humanoid targets. Industrial investors of this scale bring supply chain access and customer relationship depth that financial backers cannot replicate.

The use-of-funds profile is execution-focused: develop the next-generation robot platform, extend KinetIQ's software capabilities, achieve commercial Beta deployments by end of Q4 2026, and grow the 160-person team.

The data layer and the hardware above it

Four weeks ago, ProYarn covered Microagi — Munich's bet on proprietary first-person factory footage as the training data substrate for the next generation of autonomous robots. Microagi collects the data; companies like Humanoid build the hardware that will eventually need to run on it. These are not competing plays; they represent adjacent positions in the same physical AI ecosystem, stacked vertically. Whether the data layer and the hardware layer find each other as partners or build competing infrastructure independently is one of the structural questions that will define European physical AI over the next three years.

Humanoid's claim to unicorn status will be tested most concretely by the Q4 2026 commercial Beta milestone. Artem Sokolov's operator background — running a manufacturing business at scale before building a robotics company — is the founding thesis in compressed form: the insight that matters is where and how autonomous robots must perform in real industrial environments, not just whether the underlying AI works in a controlled setting. Whether that perspective translates into robots that perform reliably enough in actual logistics and manufacturing conditions to justify a €1.1 billion valuation is the first question $152 million must begin to answer.
