DITTO raises €5.2M Seed on clinical trial data behind its menstrual-health supplement

Too many women are told their concerns are normal, or that they're being dramatic, and sent away without answers. Until DITTO, there was nowhere for women to find research about what they were going through, or science-led solutions built for the reality of what they were living. We do the research ourselves, decode the studies explaining what women are dismissed for, and combine neuroscience and nutrition to build products grounded in evidence. That's why our community has grown the way it has — women finally feel heard, are equipped with information to advocate for themselves, and they've found something that works.

DITTO (London) has raised €5.2 million ($6 million) in a Seed round led by FoodLabs, with EKA Ventures returning as a continuing investor. The company was founded in 2024 by Alice van der Schoot (co-founder and Chief Scientist, neuroscientist and nutrition scientist) and Adam Kugler (co-founder, ex-Brand Director at L'Oréal). DITTO builds evidence-based supplements for women living with PMS and PMDD — and, unusually for the supplement market, has clinical trial data to back the claims.

The evidence-first approach

DITTO's flagship product, Premenstrual Daily, targets the PMS and PMDD symptom load that an estimated 90% of women experience to some degree. The formulation uses beadlet biotechnology for timed nutrient delivery — a mechanism designed to stage the release of active compounds for maximum absorption rather than releasing everything at once.

The product's differentiation is not the delivery mechanism but the evidence behind it. DITTO conducted a proprietary clinical trial across 40 women over three full menstrual cycles. The result: 88% of participants showed significantly reduced PMS and PMDD symptoms. For a supplement company, commissioning and running a trial at all is atypical; publishing the outcome as a product claim is rarer still.

Behind the product sits a community of 300,000 women that DITTO has built by translating emerging menstrual health research into accessible content. That community has both a commercial function — it is DITTO's primary distribution channel — and a research function: a pool of real-world symptom data that informs what clinical questions to investigate next. Additional trials on PMS, PMDD, and the link between ADHD and the menstrual cycle are now in progress.

The investors

FoodLabs led this round. The Berlin-based fund previously led Aardaia's oversubscribed €5 million Seed, backing evidence-first agricultural science. The bet on DITTO follows the same logic applied to a consumer health context: that in a market saturated with unverifiable product claims, the company that owns the clinical data owns the conversation.

"DITTO is a research platform that develops and sells products," said Flo Breiner, Operating Partner at FoodLabs. "In the market of menstrual health, clinical evidence is becoming the price of entry, and the first company to set that standard is the one everyone else gets measured against. With proprietary delivery technology, a community of 300,000 women and a loyal customer base with strong retention, DITTO is that company."

EKA Ventures participated as a returning investor. The firm previously appeared in ProYarn's coverage of Axle Energy's Series A — its second appearance in the same company's cap table reflects a conviction position rather than a portfolio sweep.

The new capital funds three tracks: a larger clinical trial, a real-world evidence study now in progress, and expansion of the supplement range. Distribution growth follows the clinical expansion: if the evidence base widens, so does the commercial argument for prescription-channel distribution alongside the direct-to-consumer model DITTO currently operates.
