The wire — 18 October 2026
Sunday produced no new announcements — consistent with the weekend publishing cadence. This edition carries one round from the 16 October window that had been held for a second confirming source.
Unravel Health (London, £2.5M / approx. €2.96M pre-seed) is developing the Micro Lab — a palm-sized device designed to read multiple hormones simultaneously from a saliva sample in minutes, targeting PCOS, perimenopause, and the full female hormonal lifecycle from puberty to post-menopause. Conduit EIS Impact Fund and Wrightwood co-lead; Leo Capital, Embryo Ventures, Hermesa, and returning investor Zinc VC participate. Founded in 2024 by Veronika Bridgman (CEO), Liza Levy (CCO), and Dr. Alexandra Oti (CMO), the company is built on ten years of University of Glasgow research protected by three granted patents. The pre-seed funds external equivalency studies benchmarking saliva readings against blood-test accuracy — the evidentiary threshold regulators require — alongside opening the regulatory dossier. First early-access devices with pharmacy, digital health, and clinical research partners are targeted for 2027. The round was first noted in the 16 October brief; a second independent source confirmed it today.
One round remains held: Epyr (Paris, approx. €15M Series A, industrial energy storage for commercial buildings). A second source now corroborates the deal, but accessible detail is insufficient to support a full deal story at the required standard. It will appear in a future edition once that gap is closed.
The weekly recap for the week of 13–18 October is also published today: twelve rounds, approximately €62M, seven countries.
Next edition: Monday 19 October 2026.
