The wire — 24 September 2026

Six rounds, all announced on 23 September and missed by yesterday's French-heavy brief. The day has one sharp outlier and a theme that runs through four of the other five.

The outlier first. StandardX (London) raised £10 million to build an accelerator-based isotope refinery for cancer medicine and fusion energy. It has nothing to do with software — it is a bet that the most pressing supply crisis in oncology right now is a manufacturing problem, and that particle accelerators can solve it without the fifteen-year timelines of reactor construction. Vsquared Ventures and East X Ventures co-led, with UKI2S and Brevan Howard Macro Venture participating. Founded in 2025, which makes the £10M a meaningful sum at an early stage.

The theme in the remaining rounds is precision: AI performing professional tasks where approximately right is unusable. mika (Berlin) is making German tax compliance automatable for GmbHs and UGs — a market international players have not cracked because the German accounting-tax linkage requires correctness, not approximation. F13 (Berlin) is building AI that generates vector graphics: structured outputs, not pixel guesses, because a data visualisation that is approximately right is worse than no visualisation. Spiich (Stockholm) is handling the administrative overhead of sales — prospecting, CRM, prep, follow-up — while leaving the relationship, the one thing AI cannot own, to human salespeople. And Palma.ai (Berlin) is auditing every action enterprise AI agents take, creating the tamper-evident record that turns deployment from a liability into a defensible practice.

Three of those four are from Berlin. Whether that is coincidence or a real cluster forming around AI precision in professional workflows is a question the next six months will answer.

CIOC Energy (Belgium) is the sixth round and the least typical in structure: a €3 million strategic minority stake from CleverNett, a renewable energy developer, rather than a VC-backed equity raise. The problem it solves — fragmented software making poor decisions across solar-plus-battery installations — is real, but the round's corporate-strategic character sets it apart from the day's other five.

StandardX — London, €11.8M Seed

StandardX raised £10 million in a Seed co-led by Vsquared Ventures and East X Ventures, with firstminute capital, UKI2S, Brevan Howard Macro Venture, and Geometry participating. Founded in 2025 by nuclear engineers Richard Pearson and Ross Allen, the company is building an accelerator-based isotope refinery for rare isotopes used in targeted alpha cancer therapies and fusion energy. Pilot production with a medical partner is targeted for 2027; industrial scale from 2029.

mika — Berlin, €6M Seed

mika raised €6 million in a Seed led by Smedvig Ventures, with Wecken & Cie., Keen Venture Partners, Dutch Founders Fund, and individual angels (studiVZ co-founders, limango founder). Founded in 2022 by Agnieszka Walorska, Luke Linnekuhle, and Henry Müssemann, the platform handles bookkeeping, VAT, annual accounts, and tax filings exclusively for German GmbHs and UGs. €1M ARR crossed in July 2026; 750+ customers.

F13 — Berlin, €4.7M Pre-Seed

F13 raised $5 million (approximately €4.7M) in a Pre-Seed co-led by Credo Ventures and Point Nine Capital — which also backed Aardaia earlier this year. Founded by Gregory Janik and Ingimar Tomasson, the company is building foundation models for generating precise, fully editable vector graphics for professional design workflows. Still pre-market; public launch targeted for late 2026.

Spiich — Stockholm, €3M Seed

Spiich raised €3 million in a Seed led by Ugly Duckling Ventures (Copenhagen), with Alliance VC, Cherry Ventures, Ampli Ventures, and angels from OpenAI and Lovable. Founded in June 2025 by Johan Torssell and Dennis Hadzialic, the platform gives salespeople AI agents that handle admin — prospecting, CRM, meeting prep, follow-up. 50+ customers in 15 countries; 100%+ MoM ARR growth in H1 2026; 160%+ NRR.

CIOC Energy — Belgium, €3M

CIOC Energy raised €3 million from CleverNett (strategic minority stake, stage unstated). Founded in September 2023, the company operates a unified platform for monitoring, controlling, and trading energy across solar-plus-battery installations for businesses — 100+ sites and 100+ MWh under management across Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, and Romania.

Palma.ai — Berlin, €1.7M Pre-Seed

Palma.ai raised $1.8 million (approximately €1.7M) in a Pre-Seed led by D11Z, with Plug and Play Ventures, Deel (strategic), and Scale Now Ventures. Founded by Patrick Eden and Julian Kolbe, the company is building a centralised governance and audit layer for enterprise AI agents across Claude, Gemini, Copilot, and other platforms. Deel's strategic participation — given the stakes of payroll AI access — is the round's most pointed signal.

Next edition: Friday 25 September 2026.
