The wire — 5 September 2026
Saturday closes the first full week of the rentrée with no qualifying rounds announced on 5 September itself. That is the structural shape of the weekend: PR agencies hold embargoes; deal teams are unavailable for press calls; the announcement cycle rests until Monday. A complete sweep of EU Startups, Maddyness, Sifted, and secondary trackers found no verified seed or Series A rounds published on 5 September 2026.
The week that just closed was substantive: eight rounds across five countries — from xorlab (Zurich, €5M Series A+) on Monday through HyImpulse (Germany, €50M+), iPremom (Spain, €15M), and Pharosyn (UK, $3M) on Wednesday, to a four-round Thursday batch spanning Munich, Brussels, and London. Week one of September reads like a concentrated rentrée flush: AI infrastructure, space, femtech, and food compliance, with Germany as the geography carrying the most capital.
One French round from earlier in the week is now in the archive: OTEO (Annecy, €1.2M) — a platform coordinating hospital-to-hotel patient stays under the French hébergement temporaire non médicalisé mechanism — announced on 2 September and missed by the midweek briefs. It is the only qualifying French round the desk tracked in the opening week.
The desk returns Monday.
