The wire — 2 September 2026
The first full Wednesday of the rentrée, and the announcement cycle has not yet produced qualifying rounds. A complete sweep of European funding media — EU Startups, Maddyness, FrenchWeb, Sifted, and the French business press — returned no verified seed or Series A rounds published on 2 September 2026 before the wire closes at 07:00 Paris.
This is the structural reality of early September. Deal teams returning from August typically surface completed transactions through mid-morning to mid-afternoon; the PR machinery takes a day or two to reach operating speed even when deals have already closed. Yesterday's edition covered xorlab (Zurich, €5M Series A+), the one clean qualifying round to emerge on the rentrée's opening day. Research across all primary and secondary trackers turned up no additional rounds for today's window.
The first full week of September — Wednesday through Friday — is historically when European venture deal volume begins to recover. Companies and investors finalise documentation through August and batch announcements for the first business days of September. The desk returns tomorrow.
