Wednesday's sweep picks up one round that EU-Startups filed on Tuesday — after the desk for 11 August had already closed — and that clears ProYarn's two-source verification bar. It is published today with its correct announcement date of 11 August. A single entry has no fil rouge by definition; what the round does have is a structural logic worth reading on its own.

Zerolook (Zug) raised €1.6 million / CHF 1.5 million / $1.9 million in a pre-Seed round led by Playfair, with Vento Ventures, TrueSight Ventures, and Alpha Venture participating. The company is building a B2B flight shopping API that predicts itinerary prices using ML rather than computing them live from GDS or airline systems. The problem it is solving is concrete: the look-to-book ratio — searches per booking — has climbed from 1:50 in the travel-agent era to more than 1:200,000 for AI agent traffic. At those volumes, computing every fare combination in real time costs more than the economics of the transaction can support. Airlines and travel agencies pay per query; they only earn when someone books. Zerolook's model predicts prices in milliseconds and attaches a confidence score — cheap enough to serve exploratory AI traffic, precise enough for sellers to decide when a live query is actually warranted.

The founders have run the systems that created this problem. Simone Lini led Google Flights' OTA and metasearch partnerships across EMEA before founding Waynaut (acquired by Lastminute.com); George Hadjiyiannis was VP of Product at Kayak and holds an MIT Computer Science PhD. Playfair, which co-led Exclaim Robotics's pre-Seed in August and backed Astral Systems earlier this year, is now on its third ProYarn-tracked investment in 2026 — the pattern is founders solving a specific, bounded technical problem at the moment its cost implications have become unavoidable.

France remains dark. EU-Startups has not filed a France-tagged funding article since 6 August, and Maddyness's coverage has been dormant since mid-July. With the Assumption holiday three days away, the calendar is structurally quiet. Coverage resumes when qualifying rounds surface.
