The wire — 24 July 2026

Yesterday's brief caught up on three rounds from Tuesday 22 July that had not cleared two-source corroboration before the previous run. Thursday 23 July's announcement cycle surfaced four qualifying rounds — none from France, three from Germany and one from Ireland — that were not fully indexed when yesterday's brief ran. Today's edition covers them. No confirmed rounds from Friday 24 July have emerged as of this publication; the morning press cycle had not yet run.

Three of the day's four rounds have a clear German accent, and within those three, a clearer AI one. telli and kausable are both German AI seeds, both in the €12-13 million range, both co-backed by established European VCs alongside US investors. The comparison is superficial beyond that: telli is a product company — voice agents and AI coworkers for enterprise customer operations — while kausable is a research-rooted deep-tech bet on a different AI architecture entirely. They share a capital window; they do not share a thesis. Aampere, the third round, is in a separate sector and stands on its own. Nernst Electric (Ireland) sits outside the German cluster entirely — a pre-commercial hardtech seed in a niche that none of the other three touches.

telli (Berlin, $15 million / €13.1 million, Seed; redalpine lead, Mutschler Ventures, Y Combinator, Cherry Ventures) builds a multi-channel AI agent platform for B2C customer-facing operations: voice, chat, SMS, WhatsApp, and email handled by a single AI coworker called Charlie, designed to run complete customer interactions without escalating to a human agent. Customers at announcement include Sky, Viessmann, Enpal, and Vaillant — enterprise names in telecoms, energy, and HVAC where per-interaction cost compounds at scale. The YC pedigree provides US commercial reach; the redalpine and Cherry Ventures participation reflects a consistent European investor thesis on the gap between current customer operations tooling and what AI can now provide. The test is whether Charlie holds at full deployment, not just in controlled pilots, against the long tail of complex interactions that have so far required human agents. Total raised since founding: $18.5 million.

kausable (Heidelberg, €12 million, Seed; UVC Partners and Entourage co-lead, HTGF, Mätch VC; angels from Black Forest Labs, OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Noxtua, ELLIS) was founded in 2025 by three Heidelberg University physicists with ties to Black Forest Labs. The company is building reasoning-first frontier AI: models that construct world models and use them to forecast new situations from minimal data, without the retraining cycles that standard systems require. Its key technology, TipPFN, is a zero-shot forecasting system for complex dynamic systems — the regime where static models trained on historical distributions fail first. HTGF also backed Pixel-Flo earlier this year. Previous funding: €1.5 million pre-seed. The €12M extends a nine-person team toward the engineering depth needed for enterprise deployment, and tests whether the world-model architecture generalises beyond research problems into commercial ones.

Aampere (Munich, €4.2 million, stage unstated; Trind Ventures lead, Vend Marketplaces ASA, G-FUND, GIMIC) runs a fully digital used EV resale platform that delivers a binding purchase offer within 48 hours and clears inventory through a pan-European dealer auction network. Founded in 2023 by Florian Reister (CEO), Niko Schmidt (CGO), and Maximilian Rost (CPO), the company reports revenue quadrupling year-on-year and currently sells several thousand EVs annually with a 25-person team. Trind Ventures also led the previous €1.6 million round in October 2025; the follow-on investment in a young marketplace at this stage reflects confidence in the unit economics. The significant new entrant is Vend Marketplaces ASA, parent of FINN.no (Norway), Blocket (Sweden), and Bilbasen (Denmark) — a strategic investor that brings Nordic classified marketplace infrastructure and distribution reach directly into the cap table.

Nernst Electric (Ireland, €1.7 million / $2 million, Seed; Hatch Blue Blue Revolution Fund) was founded in 2023 by Nick Farandos and Chris Matson. The company generates high-purity oxygen (>99%) on-site using ceramic solid oxide membrane technology, addressing the cost and logistics of trucked liquid oxygen and conventional PSA/VSA generators that fish farms currently depend on. Hatch Blue has backed Nernst twice — pre-seed via its accelerator fund in July 2025, seed via the Blue Revolution Fund now — tracking the company from manufacturing concept to working system. The €1.7M funds the first pilot-scale unit for real-world aquaculture deployment, a necessary step before commercial customer trials and a Series A. The technology's application extends to mining, steel manufacturing, and energy, but the aquaculture proof comes first.
